The early days of treasure mining in the Goldrat were characterized by a peculiar method known as sluicing. Developing from the requirement to extract coveted minerals from the heavily laden riverbeds, sluicing became as a common practice. Astute miners would fabricate elaborate sluice boxes, carefully directing the river water to wash away the
